Creating a Sleep Sanctuary
Small changes to your bedroom environment can dramatically improve the quality of your rest.
Personal Growth Writer
Most bedrooms are furnished for everything except sleep: a desk in the corner, a television on the wall, a phone charging beside the pillow. The room tells the body it is a place to keep working, and the body believes it.
The changes that matter are small and mostly about removal. Screens out, or at least across the room. Light that can be turned all the way down. A temperature a few degrees cooler than the rest of the home. Bedding you like to touch. Nothing on the floor.
None of this is expensive and all of it is boring, which is why it works. A sanctuary is not a look. It is a room that asks nothing of you, so that when you lie down there is nothing left to do but rest.
A sanctuary is not a look. It is a room that asks nothing of you.
